MUSTANGS BID FOR WIN LANDIS A LITTLE SHORT

After falling behind 3-0 at half time, the girls showed determination as they dominated the second half action but were only able to tally 1 goal, despite out shooting the Panthers by 12 shots and having numerous balls hitting off the post and cross bar.  Taylor Folk scored the lone goal on an assist by Maddie Gessner, while Abby Gesselmen was required to make only 3 saves.

DON’T WARRIOR, BE HAPPY

Despite not playing one of our better games, the Mustangs found a way to defeat the defending AA state champion Warriors from Montoursville on Monday afternoon.  We should be happy knowing we did not play our best and could find a way to win the game, but we must continue to improve on our preparation for each game.  Cheyenne Spade scored the game winner with 4:30 remaining in the second half off an assist by Taylor Folk to help defeat Montoursville by a score of 2-1.  Brittney Kuhns scored the first goal of the game after receiving a pass from Allie Camp.  Montoursville evened the score at 1 with 17 minutes remaining in the game on a direct kick from 25 yards.  Abby Gesselman recorded 9 saves in the game.

MIDD-WEST CAN NOT SEAL THE DEAL

Cheyenne Spade with 32 minutes remaining in the half.  Taylor Folk scored the tying score with 29 minutes remaining.  Unfortunately, for the Mustangs they could not convert on many good chances the remainder of regulation or the two ten minute overtimes and had to settle for the draw.  The team is now 2-1-1 and next plays on Saturday at Shamokin.
